Responsibilities

This position is for Pactiv Evergreen Inc.

 

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  1. Complies with all EHS policies, procedures and safe work instructions in place.
  2. Reviews daily production schedules and approves equipment set-ups and speeds, and assigns sufficient manpower to work stations.
  3. Maintains proper make-ready information and ensures proper start-up procedures.                    
  4. Maintains complete records of shift operations (i.e., equipment performance, supplies used, inventory levels etc and maintenance activity.
  5. Assigns, directs, assists and counsels employees to achieve maximum effectiveness, delegating responsibility and authority as appropriate.
  6. Motivates, develops and disciplines employees as appropriate.
  7. Schedules, trains and all disciplinary action as required.
  8. Schedules all department vacations and coverage as necessary.
  9. Maintains specified efficiencies, scrap limits, and minimum product returns for shift operations.
  10. Regularly seeks ways to reduce scrap and to apply innovative ideas in planning jobs including ways to run equipment and schedule employees more efficiently.                                           
  11. Administers company policies relative to shift operations, including overtime scheduling, filling jobs, etc.               
  12. Maintains positive employee relations through effective communication and leadership.                    
  13. Coordinates with production planning and sales service staff and other shift supervisors to ensure accurate and timely communication of order specifications and customer delivery needs and to ensure smooth shift-to-shift operations and maximum efficiency of operations.
  1. Develops and maintains positive working relationships with other plant supervisory and administrative staff.
  2. Performs other related duties as may be assigned by the Production Manager.    

Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

 

  • Community College or BA/BS degree preferred, in Industrial Management, Manufacturing or Business. 
  • 3 - 5 years of manufacturing experience including 2 years of supervisory experience. 
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of statistical methods and process improvement techniques. 
  • Must demonstrate proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Effective team building and demonstrated leadership skills. 
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal) with all levels in the organization. 
  • Knowledge of SAP preferred
  • Experienced in a metric based organization preferred.
  • Demonstrate ability to direct, coach, and train employees as well as plan, monitor and schedule work.
